About Home Start

Home Start is virtually the only program serving families exclusively. We accept families headed by single fathers, single mothers, couples with children and even grandparents raising children. Preference is given to Placer County residents. Families are accepted into Home Start after a referral, fill out an application, agree to conditions and live here for one year. They must attend all case manager mandated meetings, therapy sessions, work, save, live on a budget, attend GED classes if not a high school graduate and remain drug and alcohol free. Smoking is not allowed on the premises.

Families are under the case management of Home Start for an additional year after graduation as well.
